<blockquote><p><strong>Star-gazers are being urged to stay up late and enjoy one of the best displays of the Geminid meteor showers for some years on the night of 14 December 2010.</strong></p>
<p>The National Trust has cited Wicken Fen in Cambridgeshire as one of the seven best locations to view the meteors.</p>
<p>The peak of activity was expected on Tuesday morning, however, cloud cover meant that very little could be seen.</p>
<p>Astronomers say that the display will last until the early hours of Wednesday 15 December.</p>

<p>This Printer could be  going to the MOON! to start construction of a moon base using moon dust.</p>

<p>Previously posted about a <a href="http://wyckynews.com.au/space/enormous-magnetic-filament-on-the-sun-collapsed/" target="_blank">massive Solar Filament </a>which stretch across 1Million KM  of the Sun&#8217;s surface and there was a concern the solar Filament may collapse causing a Hyder Flare.</p>
<p>The  Solar Filament did collapse, however, when it did it was not facing towards Earth  and there was no mention of a Hyder Flare or a CME.</p>
<p>Now it appears the Sun is awake, with another Solar Filament, this one much smaller in comparison only 50,000km. &#8211; <a href="http://spaceweather.com/">http://spaceweather.com/</a></p>
<p>It looks as though the sun is now out of its 11 year slumber and the new Solar High is upon us.</p>
<p>Perhaps all this solar activity may have something to do with the changing weather? <a href="http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/melbourne-storm-more-rain-wind-to-follow-fierce-storms/story-e6frf7l6-1225838033383" target="_blank">server storms</a> and <a href="http://www.sofiaecho.com/2010/03/08/869551_blizzard-over-bulgaria" target="_blank">Blizzard</a>s?</p>
<p>Also take a look at the Earth Quakes, there has been a lot of activity recently on the Richter, there is nothing proven that the suns activity relates to earthquakes but given the current timing you can&#8217;t help but wonder&#8230;.</p>

SOHO coronagraphs observed at least one and possibly as many as <strong>three clouds billowing away from the sun: </strong><a href="http://spaceweather.com/swpod2010/25feb10/c2_cme_anim.gif?PHPSESSID=9unegta09lja8efava1u5fta32">movie</a>. <strong>If any of this material is heading for Earth&#8211;a big unknown!&#8211;it should arrive on Feb. 27th or 28th. <p align="left">I will keep you posted once more info is out, hopefully it is a mild CME enough to cause a small geomagnetic storm and give us a nice aurora light show.</p>
<p align="left">A large CME could knock out satellites or worse effect our power grid and the worst thing about  that is  you can&#8217;t access Wycky News!!!!  :-(</p>
<p align="left">So people in the far Northern and Southern Hemispheres keep your eyes on the sky 27th &amp; 28th Feb for hopefully an awesome aurora  light show. If the Geomagnetic Storm is large enough people in Tasmania and maybe even Southern Victoria will get a piece of the action</p>

<p>The filament has remained mostly stable for at least two days (usually only last 60 &#8211; 120min). However, similar filaments in the past have been known to collapse, and when they hit the surface of the sun&#8211;bang! A tremendous explosion called a <strong>&#8220;Hyder flare&#8221; </strong>results, sometimes rivaling the strongest flares produced by sunspots. Solar physicists have not yet learned to predict Hyder flares, so we cannot estimate the odds of one now.</p>
<p>There is not a great deal known about Hyder Flare&#8217;s as they are a rare phenomenon. Last one occured September 12th 2000 causing a CME resulting in a minor geometric storm.</p>
<p>What would you do if this Hyder Flare caused a massive CME knocking out satellites?</p>
<p>You would have no</p>
<p>TV</p>
<p>Radio</p>
<p>Phone</p>
<p>Internet</p>
<p>All communications that relied on satellite would be down and depending on the size of the CME it could also effect ground communications&#8230;&#8230;</p>
<p>So&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;.. what would you do??</p>

<p>Scientist believe this happen once before approx 70 million years ago which does match up with the extinction of Dinosaurs approx 60 &#8211; 70 million years ago.</p>
<p>In another article back in Feb 2005 the first Dark Galaxy was discovered made up almost entirely of Dark Matter. Could this be the same galaxy??</p>
<p>The scary part about Dark Matter is that we know very little about it, we can&#8217;t even see it (hence the name Dark Matter) we can only tell of its presents by it gravitational pull.</p>
<p>The most scary part about this is it is believed that our universe is made up of 25% Dark Matter, 70% Dark Energy and only 5% Ordinary Matter, therefore we really only understand 5% of the universal forces / energies that are out there.</p>
<p>Could we have collided with a galaxy 70 million years ago causing the extinction of the Dinosaurs and other species??</p>
<p>What effect (if any) would this collision have on the planet now, what effect on us??</p>
<p>Could this be part of the 2012 Mayan prediction???</p>
