PRIME Minister Julia Gillard has conceded her decision to pursue a controversial carbon tax was influenced by the number of Green and Independent MPs in Parliament.
Asked why she had gone back on her pledge that there would be no carbon tax under her government, Ms Gillard seemed to admit the make-up of Parliament after the election had forced her hand.
