Just think about it for a moment, we have government grants which are suppose to assist you to help make running your home on solar cheaper but all it is doing is allowing Solar Installer companies to over charge and provide the energy suppliers with free energy, to sell back to you!
The Australian government is currently giving a $7000 rebate to install solar panels onto your home. I have done some shopping around the average price for a 1.5kw system is approx $11,000 – $13,000 installed which is way over priced.
This isn’t really a “system” it is1.5kw of solar panels installed on your home which is feeding power straight back into the grid.
Do you see what’s happening here ??
With the help of the government grant and money from your own pocket the power companies are obtaining free power from the sun at your expense, from your home and then selling it back to you!
You will only benefit from solar power if you install an off the grid type system with batteries, inverters etc which are made to be too expensive for everyone to afford.
So based on a 1.5kw system people are paying approx $4,000 – $6,000 out of their own pocket + $7,000 from the government to provide energy to the energy suppliers for free so they can sell it back to you.
Also Keep in mind over the last 3 years there has been a 30% increase in electricity bills and there is another expected rise of 20% (in Sydney anyway) this year, and for what reason???
So keep this in mind before you go and purchase a Solar System and make sure you shop around.
