Apple is applying for a patent on technology that will allow them to punish people who “jail break” the Apple product.

However, Apple’s new technology would do much more. This patented device enables Apple to secretly collect, store and potentially use sensitive biometric information about you. This is dangerous in two ways: First, it is far more than what is needed just to protect you against a lost or stolen phone. It’s extremely privacy-invasive and it puts you at great risk if Apple’s data on you are compromised. But it’s not only the biometric data that are a concern. Second, Apple’s technology includes various types of usage monitoring — also very privacy-invasive. This patented process could be used to retaliate against you if you jailbreak or tinker with your device in ways that Apple views as “unauthorized” even if it is perfectly legal under copyright law.

Here’s a sample of the kinds of information Apple plans to collect:

The system can take a picture of the user’s face, “without a flash, any noise, or any indication that a picture is being taken to prevent the current user from knowing he is being photographed”;

The system can record the user’s voice, whether or not a phone call is even being made;

The system can determine the user’s unique individual heartbeat “signature”;

To determine if the device has been hacked, the device can watch for “a sudden increase in memory usage of the electronic device”;

The user’s “Internet activity can be monitored or any communication packets that are served to the electronic device can be recorded”; and

The device can take a photograph of the surrounding location to determine where it is being used.

In other words, Apple will know who you are, where you are, and what you are doing and saying and even your heart. In some embodiments of Apple’s “invention,” this information “can be gathered every time the electronic device is turned on, unlocked, or used.” When an “unauthorized use” is detected, Apple can contact a “responsible party.” A “responsible party” may be the device’s owner, it may also be “proper authorities or the police.”

Full Story

Basically Apple can listen to you whether you are talking on the phone or not, they can pin point your location through GPS or Mobile phone towers and can take photographs with out your knowledge.

Don’t believe the story view the Patent here it was filed Feb 19th 2009

Dear Mr Dick Smith,

In Response to your offer of 1 Million Dollars to reduce population -

The Wilberforce Award, and the $1 million prize, will go to a young Australian under 30 who can impress Mr Smith by coming up with alternatives to “our population and consumption growth-obsessed economy”.

Source

Your going about this the wrong way, population reduction is not the answer, every person on this planet has the right to have any size family as they wish. As human beings we need to change lifestyles and resource consumption if we wish to continue increasing our population or to sustain our current population.

Lets take a look at some of the issues the planet is facing if we continue on our current path.

Land Mass

Land mass is not a problem – you could give every person living on the planet (approx 6.7billion people) a home on a 1/4 acre block and it still wouldn’t even fill Australia. So we know land mass is not a problem, the problem is getting people out of the cities that is where all the congestion is.

Will reducing the population solve this problem?

Well…. yes it will ease congestion in the city, but is it the correct answer…NO. What we should be doing is pushing people out of the city into rural areas or at least the outskirts of the City Metro areas. Instead of Governments spending billions of dollars increasing / upgrading cities infrastructure they should be rewarding small business, corporations, Doctors etc to open stores / business / practices outside the cities. This will not only make the rural areas more attractive to potential residents but will also bring more money into the communities and local councils, at the same time easing congestion in the cities.

Resources

Food and Water – Our 2 most important necessities for survival (apart from oxygen) , if we keep relying on shopping centres for these necessities then yes there is going to be a problem unless we cap our population, but as the example I have given above if every body as a 1/4 acre you can grow your own fruit and veg and collect your own rain water you don’t need to go to a shopping centre to survive. Also take in to consideration the food you will be eating will be much more nutritious, no pesticide’s, no growth enhancements, not genetically modified in anyway (unlike what we consume now) .

Oil - This is unfortunately our most import resource (apart from food and water) yet it shouldn’t be. Oil has been used for decades for fuel and power, there has been plenty of alternatives that just get swept under the rug because the oil companies have to big of a hold on this planet and wont allow these alternatives to be released – Just to name a couple:

The Electric Car: There are a few Hybrids out at the moment yet back in 1931 Nikola Tesla ran a car solely on electricity, It didn’t even need batteries because it ran on wireless electricity (Imagine where the world would be today if this technology was not suppressed by the 3 asses – Morgan, Rockefeller and Ford).

The Hydrogen Car: There are a few Hydrogen “Fuel Cell” cars in development at the moment, the only problem is fuelling them because service stations are yet to supply hydrogen last time I checked. The secret is we do not need Hydrogen “fuel cells” you can make hydrogen yourself all you need is water, a power source and a conductive metal. The first hydrogen motor was built back in 1807 in Switzerland, and in 1941 during WWII the Nazi’s converted 200 trucks to run on solely on Hydrogen, yet here we are 203 years since the first cleaner and more efficent engine was built and yet we are still using dirty and out dated methods of fuel???? WHY??????????!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????

Power – There are plenty of alternative methods to power; solar is a great one to have on your home it just needs more research put into solar absorption and storing power until then it is not reliable enough to be your only source of power. We still have tidal, hydro and thermo energy. Combinations of these 4 natural power sources will do fine powering any country. But the fact is all of these power sources still need more research into the most efficient methods of abstracting power from them. Have a think of all the billions of dollars (spent around the world) of our money and years put into research on climate change…… and what was the answer to solve all our problems… lets tax the citizens!! that will save the environment.

Now just stop for 1 sec and imagine if all those years and billions of dollars was actually put to good use (instead of scamming the public) and went towards researching the above mentioned technologies and we actually had a natural unlimited source of power??

So Dick, as you can see from my few examples given above a population cap is not the correct answer to solve our planet’s problems. The answer is people and need to change, there needs to be a paradigm shift and we need to take the power away from the greedy, money hungry and corrupt oil tycoons because really the only thing stopping this planet from advancing is greed and money.

Regards,

Wycky

Sorry to my 5 readers out there I have been a bit busy being lazy and starting a new job and stuff.

I know its the 13 of July (as I write this) but I give it time to get the info right and sort out the truth from the lies (or Rumours)

I have put together a summary of utility increases, I know some don’t seem like much but when you take in the other increase such as rego, petrol etc (which I will cover next) it all adds up and will put strain on your finance’s. Also keep in mind people are saving less and retail sales are currently lower then the 08/09 financial crisis and these increase’s will hurt the retail industry even more!

UTILITIES

Electricity

For ActewAGL customers, prices will increase by around 4 per cent from 1 July 2010 and by a total of 11 per cent over the 3 years (including inflation). Rises in network charges account for around 85 per cent of these increases.

For AGL business customers, bills will increase by 10 per cent over the 3 years, while

Origin Energy business customers face increases of 11 per cent over the same period.

Country Energy’s business customers’ bills will increase by 16 per cent over the 3 years

ActewAGL business customers bills will increase by 9 per cent over the 3 years.

“Under our final decision, typical customers in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong will see moderate increases in their annual bills, but in some regional areas increases will be higher.

After a six-year halt, the Seoul government has resumed a Cold War-style propaganda campaign as part of a package of reprisals for the North’s sinking of a South Korean warship.

The campaign began on Monday evening, hours after President Lee Myung-Bak cut trade links with the North and announced he would refer it to the United Nations Security Council for punishment.

The IMF statement, issued at the end of a routine consultation with the country, served as a reminder of how the same issues that have caused an acute panic in Greece are troubling other European nations.

In Greece’s case, issues including high government debt and uncompetitive labor markets pushed the country to a near-default before the IMF and a collection of European Union countries offered an emergency bailout.

But the long list of IMF recommendations for Spain shows just how tough a climb it might be for the euro area, as it tries to renew growth and regain its competitive footing.

Spanish labor markets are “dysfunctional,” the IMF said, using a set of collective bargaining agreements that “hamstrings” companies’ ability to hire and fire and set wages.

The Marsili volcano, which is bursting with magma, has “fragile walls” that could collapse, Enzo Boschi told the leading daily Corriere della Sera.

“It could even happen tomorrow,” Prof Boschi, president of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology said ”Our latest research shows that the volcano is not structurally solid, its walls are fragile, the magma chamber is of sizeable dimensions,” he said. ”All that tells us that the volcano is active and could begin erupting at any time.” The event would result in “a strong tsunami that could strike the coasts of Campania, Calabria and Sicily,” Prof Boschi said.

I thought i would post this article up due to all the activity of Eyjafjallajökull and now Costa Rica’s Arenal volcano has erupted today 25/05/2010. Then take into consideration that that we are only in the 5th month of the year and we have already had 7 major Earthquakes (7.0 and greater) which currently is 1.4 - 7.0+ earthquakes per month.

There is a lot of underground activity this year and it has increased over the past few years, given the fragile nature of this volcano a small earthquake could set it off and southern Italy would be in a lot of trouble.

I think the next few years will be a wild ride… lets see if we make it to 2012!

The worlds top forecasters all believe 2010 is going to be a bad year, worse then the collapse of 2008 (and yes it was a collapse, if the US government didn’t pump $500 Billion into the economy it would have collapsed in ‘08) and much worse then the great depression.

Bob Chapman
First 6 months of 2010, Americans will continue to live in the ‘unreality’…the period between July and October is when the financial fireworks will begin.

Gerald Celente
Terrorist attacks and the “Crash of 2010″. 40% devaluation at first = the greatest depression, worse than the Great Depression.

Igor Panarin
Forecast the probable disintegration of the USA into six parts in 2010 (at the end of June – start of July 2010, as he specified on 10 December 2000

Neithercorps
Have projected that the third and final stage of the economic collapse will begin sometime in 2010. Barring some kind of financial miracle, or the complete dissolution of the Federal Reserve

There is Much more to be read here

All these forecast are mainly based on the US and UK which will of course effect the rest of the world.

I’m Australian and a lot of people say so what, how will it affect us ? so lets look at why this would effect us, its pretty easy just follow the chain of events.

The Largest countries in world which purchase consumer products is the US, UK and Europe. These 3 countries are all currently in dire straights and these big 3 are all predicted to fall by the end of the year (2010). Once the Economy falls people can’t afford consumer goods, people will only be purchasing the bare necessities to survive.

Where does all the consumer good come from? manufacturing countries like China & Japan mostly but also Twain, Indonesia, India etc. So if the big 3 can’t afford to buy products then manufacturing countries have nothing to produce and millions will lose their jobs and thousands of manufacture’s will close their doors.

Where do the manufacturing companies get the raw materials from to make there products?…. Australia!

Raw materials are big business here in Australia: mining, wool, meat etc. The manufacturing companies will no longer require our Raw materials which would crush the Australian economy.

Every Country is intertwined like its more like a network of Companies then countries our whole world is ran like a giant business and that’s a big problem.

In a world first, Craig Venter, a maverick biologist and billionaire entrepreneur, has made a synthetic cell from scratch.

In future, bacterial ‘factories’ could be set up to manufacture artificial organisms designed for specific tasks such as medicines or producing clean biofuels.

The technology could also be harnessed to create environmentally friendly bugs capable of mopping up carbon dioxide or toxic waste.

Dr Venter, a 63-year-old Vietnam War veteran known for his showman tendencies, said last night: ‘We are entering a new era where we’re limited mostly by our imaginations.’

But the breakthrough, which took 15 years and £27.7million to achieve, opens an ethical Pandora’s box. Ethicists said he is ‘creaking open the most profound door in humanity’s history’ – with unparalleled risks.

Full Story

This is massive news!

Why I have not seen news about it anywhere else baffles me…I guess its not that big of news when you think about it, its one man playing GOD!!!!

The possibilities are endless, you would be able to create Anti Cancer Cell’s and these little guys can swim around your body eating cancer cells and you could do this for all diseases that plague our planet. You have a really bad flu? Just take to Immune Booster Tablets it will create an artificial immune system in your body, kill the flu virus and allow you own immune system strengthen up in a manner of hours or minuets who knows, the possibilities are endless……

and that is where the problem lies … endless possibilities ….. Although with this sort of technology we can act like gods we are unfortunately not gods, as humans we are corruptible, deceitful and have our own agendas. This sort of technology can cause mass destruction and elimination of life. An Artificial life form can be created to eradicate a particular species of plant or animal ….. or particular race of HUMANS!

All in all I think is is an incredible piece of technology and could advance the human race to incredible places, but is it worth the risk if it falls into the wrong hands?

Let me know what you think…..
